Getting loudspeaker directivity right is challenging, largely due to lateral radiation and edge diffraction from cabinet edges.

Metadir is an acoustic metasurface composed of meticulously engineered, compact resonators that offers a novel solution. Its structure suppresses sound waves propagating parallel to the cabinet’s front baffle, thereby eliminating lateral radiation and reducing edge diffraction.
